What are wax melts ? Wax melts also referred to as tarts are fragranced wax shapes that can be melted in a melt/tart warmer to fill your home, office or any indoor area with a fragrant scent. Think of it as a small candle without a wick.
What is soy wax ? A vegetable wax derived from soybean oil.
My soap looks a little different from my last order, why is that ? Our soap is handmade in small batches so there may be small deviations in your bars. Maybe the top was textured differently but rest assured the same quality is in each batch we make.
What type of wax do you use ? OLIVE NEST uses a high quality soy for our melts and a high quality soy rich blend for the candles. The blend contains primarily soy along with other vegetable waxes such as carnauba, candelilla wax and food grade paraffin. Food grade paraffin wax is non-toxic and is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for use in food, cosmetics, and medical applications.
Does your fragrances contain phthalate ? No. We ensure that all of our fragrances are phthalate free. As for our soap we only use essential oils.
What type of wicks do you use?
Our wicks are made from 100% natural wood from sappy fruit trees sustainably sourced in the U.S.
Is there lye in your soap ? No. All of our soaps go through a curing process of no less than 4 weeks. This time allows the lye and water to evaporate, creating a safe bar for use.
What's that white stuff on my soap ?
The white stuff or residue on your soap is soda ash. A harmless residue that tends to happen when unsaponified lye reacts with naturally-occurring carbon dioxide in the air, but once you lather that bar up the first time it will disappear.
Are your fragrances natural ? Our candles and melts offer a blend of essential oils and synthetic fragrance oils to achieve our unique scents. In the bar soap we use essential oils.
How long does your wax melts scent last? Our wax melts typically last 8-10 hours per melt. A number of things can affect how long this scent will last and this will include the type of warmer you’re using. Whether it’s a tea light warmer or electrical, the hotter the warmer gets , the stronger the scent will be, but it will in turn burn the fragrance off quicker. Also take into consideration the room size and where the warmer is being placed. (Note: Some fragrances tend to last even longer.)
Is there a sales tax? The state of South Carolina is subject to sales tax of 6%-8% on any products picked up or shipped within the State of South Carolina.
Can I update my order? Once an order has been completed and shipped it cannot be updated or changed.
Where does my product ship from and how long does it take? Orders ship from Columbia, South Carolina USA. Orders leave our studio within 24-48 hours and can take 3-5 days to ship via USPS or UPS.
Do you ship outside of the U.S.? At this time we do not ship outside of the U.S.
